About Urban Jungle

We're an urban garden center looking to bring a little jungle into urban environments. Our shop has indoor and outdoor plants, gardening supplies, plant accessories, dried flower arrangements, and more.

Urban Jungle is a garden center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is listed at 1526 Passyunk Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19147, which places it among the local businesses of Philadelphia that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as landscape designer, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

In Philadelphia, garden centers are busiest on spring weekends, when new stock arrives and popular plants sell out; weekday mornings are calmer and staff have more time to answer questions. Ask which plants are hardy for your USDA zone in Pennsylvania, whether trees and shrubs carry a replacement guarantee (one year is common), and whether the nursery delivers and plants large items. Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Many nurseries close or shorten hours in winter, so check the listing for current hours and Google rating before you go.

The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 10 am–6 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (215) 952-0811. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, urbanjunglephilly.com.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.4 out of 5 from 312 reviews, which is a strong result for a garden center in Philadelphia and suggests consistent service.

Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Philadelphia follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Their begonia maculatas all have powdery mildew and crispy leaves. For a place claiming to be a nursery it’s upsetting to see them sell people sick plants. Also saw no grow lights on in the darkest corners, which you’d expect at most knowledgeable plant shops. Price ranges are higher than what you can find at other plant shops/nurseries.

It’s disappointing to visit a plant spot that makes me dread going, and I won’t come here unless I absolutely need something for my plants. I have over 100+ plants in different varieties and worked for almost 2 years in retail plant care, with a large background in hospitality and service management. The last visit I had, I was the one who helped another guest in the store pick out a low light plant and they bought it. They also recognized me from working at another plant location and having helped them, which is why your spot made that sale. You don’t get so much as a β€œHello” walking in. Today, I walked in and asked about soil and the way I was treated made me feel stupid for asking a question. I can understand why this spot isn’t as popular as it could be. The reason why AI and online shopping is still popular is the organic spaces have people working who reflect the way the shop values its customers. And the reflection is that this place could care less about the community it services that also sustains it. I’ve bought two plants from this space, both in poor condition because I couldn’t stand letting the plants just die. When working in plant spots, I’ve always offered a discou

I dropped off 2 glass containers and a macrame wall hanging set and had one of the floral designers fill it. I think they did an amazing job!

Brought in this planter looking for advice on what to put in it. The staff were so helpful and sweet and helped me improve my little memorial for my dog that passed away. Also very affordable!

We were very disappointed because they were highly recommended but our overall opinion is very basic selection at marked up prices for plants and including pots/etc. Up to 3x-4x mark-up. You can drive 30 min or less anywhere for cheaper selection. The 2 closer/most popular plant stores both offer more, including exotics, rarer plants if you're looking for more. Best example on pricing: Monstera Deliciousa can be found for $20-$40 for the same size they were selling at $80.
